Most of their ads consist of the champions from the game (of which there are a lot) in our world going through pretty standard real-life situations within the context of the game.įor example, the first ad I saw from them involved Deathknight, a meek skeleton, being brought into a CEO-looking office and told that he isn’t meeting expectations, and that he would be sacrificed to another of the champions. The ads have actual time and effort put into them, and these quality ads are most assuredly the reason why the game is so popular on the app store. I am brought genuine joy when I get an ad for Raid, even if I know that the product itself isn’t something I would enjoy. I’ve sat through so many advertisements for one awful phone game after another which feel like the developer themselves put 2 hours total into that just leave me hating the game, the developer, and most assuredly the ad itself.īut Raid ads aren’t like that to me. The big problem with most ads is that they don’t seem to remember that quality advertisements can oftentimes leads to not only increased brand perception but also increased sales numbers. Just because the company payed for that ad doesn’t mean that artists and directors didn’t put hundreds of hours of effort to create something that would be watched repeatedly by thousands of people. Yeah, I just admitted to liking an advertisement.ĭespite their purpose to sell a product, I firmly believe that advertisements are still works of art that can be worthy of praise and critique. Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad that my favorite Youtubers are getting money to put food on the table, but whoever is giving them the list of points that they need to cover deserves to be fired.Įvery time I see a sponsorship from them, I get incredibly confused, because not only do the sponsorships hammer in the fact that Raid doesn’t seem like a fun game, but I am just reminded of how great their normal ads are. One of the most prolific sponsors for the videos I watch is a game called Raid Shadow Legends, and boy do their sponsorships absolutely suck. When was the last time you were able to look at anything online without being assaulted by tens of banner ads, pop ups, and auto play video ads? You can’t even watch videos online without sitting through not only the normal ads, but in-video sponsorships from one of like 10 companies. We live in a world absolutely drenched with advertisements. This joke took way too long for me to make
